Thai protestors have opened fire on government supporters injuring at least six people. A number of security guards from the anti-government People’s Alliance for Democracy fired half a dozen times at those supporting the current administration. The shootings came as marchers, who blockaded parliament on Monday, converged on Bangkok’s old Don Muang airport, where the cabinet has been based since demonstrators occupied Government House in August.

Chaos also reigned at the city’s new Suvarnabhumi airport. Hundreds of protestors stormed the terminal as startled tourists looked on – the airport was forced to close. Demonstrators want current Prime Minister Somchai Wongsawat to step down as they see him as a puppet of his brother-in-law, former leader Taksin Shinawtra, who was ousted as prime minister in a military coup in 2006 accused of corruption.More about: ,
