Terrorists have killed at least 18 people in two bomb attacks in Baghdad. Thirteen women died when the bus taking them to work at the trade ministry was destroyed by a so-called ‘sticky bomb’ attached to the vehicle. Most of the victims are believed to have been burned alive in the bus.

Violence has largely declined in Baghdad, but the terrorists continue to show they are able to strike without warning. Minutes after the bus attack, a female suicide bomber killed herself and five others outside Baghdad’s heavily-fortified Green Zone. Female suicide bombers are favoured by al-Qaeda because women are less likely to be searched by security forces.
