A group of Jewish settlers have graffitied messages insulting the prophet Mohammed on a mosque in the West Bank. Recently around 150 settlers were ordered to leave a fortified building in Hebron where they had been living since last year.

Some responded by spray-painting the walls and breaking the windows of the nearby Mosque. A Palestinian cemetery was also vandalised. More than 600 Jewish settlers live in heavily-guarded enclaves in the heart of Hebron, which is home to some 180,000 Palestinians.

On Sunday Israel’s High Court ruled hundreds of Israelis must vacate some of the controversial settlements amid disputes over their legality.
