Presidential frontrunner Barack Obama spent the day campaigning across the Midwest, as polls show that the Democrat is closing in on John McCain in traditional Republican territory.

A confident Obama took time out from the serious business of politics to poke some Halloween fun at his opponent.

“I just came back, my girls were doing some trick-or-treating. You know, Malie and Sasha, every year they have trouble deciding what to be for Halloween. John McCain doesn’t have that problem; just like every year he’s going as George W. Bush.”

Meanwhile, former Vice-President Al Gore campaigned for Obama in Florida, another swing state, and urged voters to rise to the challenge of electing the Illinois senator.
