Obama’s wife takes up the slake

As Barack Obama took a break from the campaign trail to visit his ill grandmother, wife Michelle stepped in his place. Despite a strong lead in the polls Michelle Obama urged supporters to take advantage of early voting.

At a rally in the key state of Columbus Ohio she said the race was not about her husband but change. “This race is not about him and will never be. He said this race is about all of us, all of you, the millions of you who are going above and beyond fighting, working hard, believing and being a part of building what has become a movement for change,’‘ said Michelle Obama.

Taking a detour to Hawaii, the democratic presidential hopeful went straight to his gravely ill grandmother Madelyn Dunhum. Obama said his family had to come first.

Keen to make the most of Obama’s absence, Republican John McCain attacked his rival over tax. ‘‘Just yesterday we’ve received news that jobless claims have increased by 15.000, and yet just this week Senator Obama announced that his plan will have a work requirement meaning that those who are unemployed will receive no help under the Obama plan – but Obama’s tax increases will put even more people out of work,’‘ said McCain

With evidence indicating Obama leads in most states except Florida, McCain will hope he can win back the Momentum before his rival returns to campaigning on Saturday.
