A meeting of the leaders of the Eurogroup, called for as a matter of urgency by the Spanish prime Minister Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero, is to take place on Sunday.
Zapatero met with French President Nicolas Sarkozy for what Sarkozy called an interesting and useful discussion on the financial crisis.
Spanish prime Minister, Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero said: ’‘This situation has to be overcome, but to do this we need co-ordination and determination, with decisions that we are going to take and have already taken to continue guaranteeing our interests.’‘
All governments using the Euro as a currency will attend the hastily arranged summit in Paris.
French President Nicolas Sarkozy said: ’‘I share fully the point of view expressed by Spain that we must have a co-ordinated European response, but beyond that we must have a co-ordinated world response.’‘
