Unemployment in the Euro zone unexpectedly went up in August. The jobless rate increased to 7.5% of the working population according to the latest figures from the EU statistics office, Eurostat. That puts it well above the 6.1% unemployment rate in the United States and Japan’s 4.1%. The data adds to signals that the economies of the 15 countries using the euro are slowing sharply.
