Boeing strike worries supplies

The strike by 27,000 Boeing machinists has sent ripples of concern though the planemaker’s parts supplies around the world, particularly in Europe and Japan.

The Boeing workers walked out on Saturday. They are protesting about a new work contract offer and Boeing’s plans to shift more jobs to non-union companies and those outside the US.

The strike is good news for Boeing’s European rival Airbus and shares of its parent company EADS rose sharply.
