More than 100 dead in storm-hit Haiti

Few in Haiti will forget hurricane season 2008.

In the port city of Gonaives, hungry people are roaming flooded streets in search of food.
There is no drinking water in the city either.

UN peacekeeping troops are doing all they can for the survivors of Tropical Storm Hanna. But more than 100 people did not live through the floods and mudslides provoked by the third powerful storm in a month.

Behind Hanna, Ike and Josephine are lining up. Ike is expected to be a category three hurricane by the time it reaches Florida and the Carolinas.

It is the reason the people of the Bahamas are still battening down the hatches. The trajectory of a hurricane is never certain, but the islands are taking no chances, especially with hurricane Ike presently packing windspeeds of more than 200 kilometres an hour.
