American police investigating a possible plot to kill Barack Obama now say the would-be president was never in danger.
Even so, security remains tight around the Democratic convention in Denver.
Obama is not yet in the city. He is on the campaign trail before accepting his party’s nomination on Thursday.
Three men were arrested after weapons and ammunition were found in a van. There have been fears of a white-supremacist backlash against the first African-American with a realistic chance of winning the White House.
Denver police are continuing their inquiry, but say the suspects never posed a serious threat.
