Bomb in Somali capital kills roadsweepers

world news

| |

A group of Somali roadsweepers have been killed in a bombing in Mogadishu. More than a dozen people, most of them women, are thought to have died. A further 50 were wounded.

A remote control device was detonated close to the Royal Palace in the capital in yet another breach of a UN-brokered ceasefire.

Insurgents are now launching near-daily attacks on Somalia’s transitional administration.
