EADS plans to extend its Power8 restructuring at its Airbus planemaking division and will take more measures to tackle the negative impact of the weak dollar.

That as the European aerospace group posted weaker-than-expected second quarter net profit. It rose 46% to 118 million euros.

One reason was that second-quarter income was hit by a higher than expected 715 million euro charge for the latest round of delays to the A380 superjumbo.

EADS shares fell nearly 5%.
