The week’s “Obamania” has eclipsed the campaign of the Republican presidential candidate John McCain.

As Obama talked Afghanistan and Iraq in Europe, McCain again criticised the Democrat candidate’s war record.

“He was one of only 14 senators to vote against the emergency funding in May 2007 that supported our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan,” said McCain. “He would choose to lose in Iraq in hopes of winning in Afghanistan. But had his position been adopted, we would have lost both wars”.

McCain is building his presidential campaign on the claim that he knows how to win wars.

But, while talking to reporters after meeting with the Dalai Lama in Colorado, he admitted Obama’s 16-month pull-out plan for US troops in Iraq was a reasonable timetable.
