North Korea brings down reactor tower

world news

| |

North Korea has demolished a cooling tower at its Yongbyon nuclear plant. The move is part of a process of dismantling the state’s nuclear programme in return for easing its international isolation.

It comes the day after Pyongyang handed over an account of its nuclear activities, prompting a cautious welcome from the US. Washington is now taking steps to remove North Korea from its list of state terrorism sponsors.
