An exhibition in southern France is bringing together the works of two French masters of political caricature, separated by two centuries. Honoré Daumier, from Marseille, was a celebrated chronicler of 19th century political life. Jean Plantureux – under the pen-name Plantu – is a modern-day cartoonist for the French daily, Le Monde. But even though the artists’ works cross two different eras, there is still an astonishing convergence.
