Primary win for Clinton but Obama still leads

world news

| |

Hillary Clinton has triumphed in the West Virginia Democrat primary and insists the race for the presidential nomination goes on. But even though she beat Barack Obama by a wide margin, it wasn’t enough to improve her chances of representing her party in November. It was, at least, a morale boost for the flagging Clinton campaign which is more than 150 pledged delegates behind Obama’s. West Virgina is worth 28 pledged delegates at the most.

Barack Obama says he didn’t expect to win in West Virginia but he certainly expects to be the Democrat candidate now.

His rival has said she won’t consider giving up until the primaries are over in June. But the Obama camp are already celebrating.
