Europe Day has been celebrated in both the European institutions and in cities across the continent. In Lisbon, Portugal’s president Anibal Cavaco Silva chose the occasion to sign the EU’s new reform treaty that takes the capital’s name – ratified in his country’s parliament last month.
Poland began warming up for the annual Schuman parade which will take place in Warsaw on Saturday. Barcelona chose to drape the final secular design of the Spanish surrealist Antoni Gaudí, Casa Milà, in grandiose European style.
