Danish police foil suspected terror plot

world news

| |

In Denmark, eight people have been arrested on suspicion of planning a bomb attack. Authorities say the young Muslim men have links to senior members of al-Qaeda. The arrests follow a raid early this morning on an address in the capital, Copenhagen. Denmark’s Security Intelligence Service believes the operation prevented a certain “act of terror” but it has refused to reveal who or what country was the target.

It is the latest in a series of arrests Danish authorities have made since passing anti-terrorism legislation in the wake of the September 11th attacks on the United States.
