North and South Korea have reportedly exchanged gunfire across their heavily-armed border. An official in the South Korean office of the Joint Chiefs of Staff confirmed a number of shots had been fired from the North and troops in the South had fired back. There were no reports of any casualties. The incident comes a day before the two Koreas are due to participate in talks over dismantling North Korea’s nuclear capability.
