Russia declares day of mourning for Yeltsin

The Russian President, Vladimir Putin, has declared a day of national mourning for Boris Yeltsin. “It’s thanks to this man, who’s passed away, that a whole new era was born. A new democratic Russia was born, a free state open to the world, a state in which power truly belongs to the people,” he said. President Putin said the day of national mourning would be this Wednesday, April 25th.
