Scores of people are dead after a fresh wave of bomb attacks in Iraq. At least 60 people were killed and more than 100 wounded after two explosions near a university in Baghdad. It appears explosives were hidden in a vehicle near the entrance to the university in the east of the capital.

At least 40 people died earlier in the day in separate bomb attacks in Baghdad and Sadr City. This on the day the UN presents a report that shows that more than 34,000 civilians were killed in violence in Iraq last year.
