Babel takes top prize at Golden Globes

The movie Babel, starring Brad Pitt, has taken the best film award at the Golden Globes.

The story is about a shooting in Morroco that is linked to events within six different families.

Best director went to Martin Scorsese for his crime thriller The Departed.

Three awards, including best musical or comedy, went to Dreamgirls.

Based on a broadway musical, the movie follows the rise of three singers in the 60s.

Helen Mirren won best actress in a drama for The Queen, while Forest Whitaker won best actor in a drama for his role in The Last King of Scotland.

Meryl Streep won best actress in a musical or comedy for The Devil Wears Prada.

Best actor in a musical or comedy went to Sacha Baron Cohen for his role in Borat, about a journalist from Kazakhstan in America.
