Contact has been lost with an Indonesian passenger plane with 102 people onboard. The Adam Air jet, which began its journey in Jakarta, was flying from Surabaya on Java island to Manado on Sulawesi. It is reported the Boeing 737-400 sent out an emergency signal before disappearing from radar screens. Transport officials say there have been reports that the plane was seen flying over a forest on Sulawesi, and it is possible the pilot attempted to make an emergency landing. Rescuers are now searching the area.
