A video allegedly showing the murder of a Serb man by Croatian soldiers has been sent by Serbian prosecutors to The Hague International War Crimes Tribunal. It also claims to show Bosnian army commander Atif Dudakovic ordering troops to burn villages in the self-declared Serb republic of Krajina as part of the 1995 Croatian offensive, Operation Storm.

Hundreds of Serbs were killed and some 200,000 were forced to flee their homes. The former Croatian general, Ante Gotovina, who led the military operation, is being tried at The Hague over the killing and forced eviction of ethnic Serb civilians.

Croatia has denied any involvement in the murder and suggested a military unit from Bosnia-Hercegovina was to blame. Both Bosnia and Croatia have opened war crimes inquiries after receiving copies of the video – broadcast by Serbian television last week. Serbian President Boris Tadic said the Croatian government should make it a priority to punish war crimes.
