It was Israel’s highest death toll in a single day since the start of the conflict. A number of rockets later landed on residential areas in the Israeli third largest city Haifa, killing three people and injuring dozens. One rocket hit an apartment block which partly collapsed. City mayor, Yona Yahav, said: “Unfortunately today they destroyed a residential area where the Arabic community we are so proud about are living in. This is a very sad moment for us.”

That sentiments was shared by one woman whose house was also destroyed in the attack. “We’re all neighbours here he says. Both sides need to talk, this has to end soon,” she said. Despite Israel’s claims to have destroyed Hizbollah’s infrastructure, the Shia group is showing it still poses a dangerous threat.
