Security sources in Lebanon report that Israel has carried out a number of air attacks overnight. Rescue workers say six members of the same family were killed when missiles fired by Israeli jets hit their home in southern Lebanon. The workers said they were unable to try to rescue the family in the village of Ghazzaniyeh due to fears of further strikes by warplanes circling in the area. Roads leading from eastern Lebanon into Syria have once again come under attack, it is claimed.

Roads linking the eastern town of Baalbek to central Lebanon have also been targeted. Meanwhile, loud explosions were heard this morning in the southern suburbs of the capital, Beirut. The area has already been pounded by Israeli military forces during the course of the war and is rapidly being reduced to rubble and dust.
