Israeli defence minister Amir Peretz visits people taking refuge in shelters in the northern Israeli town of Nahariya, not far from the Lebanese border. Peretz praised local residents steadfastness in facing the rocket attacks and beliebed there was strong support for the government’s policy. Peretz said Israeli forces had no intention of occupying parts of Lebanon as they did 24 years ago.
