Hizbollah rockets rain down on northern Israel

world news

A rocket fired from Lebanon has hit a house in the northern Israeli town of Safed. Residents and medics say 10 people were injured. On Friday afternoon Israel said Hizbollah had launched 130 missiles in the previous 48 hours, killing two civilians and wounding over 100.

Three Katyusha rockets hit Kiryat Shmona on Friday afternoon. No casualties were reported in the strike. Hizbollah says it has used a rocket called 5;5;Thunder 15;5; for the first time. The missile appears to be more advanced than the inaccurate Katyusha 5; the standard Hizbollah rocket.

The two deaths on Thursday were reported in Safed and in Nahariya. Two people were lightly wounded in Nahariya on Friday. But the place where people are most concerned is Haifa on the Mediterranean coast. Hizbollah has said Israel should expect an attack on its third largest city at any time.
