Many hospitals did not have enough emergency beds available to deal with the massive injuries. Most of the 700 wounded are suffering from burns and severe trauma. There is so much confusion in the city that many relatives have been heading from hospital to hospital trying to find loves ones for themselves.

Eyewitness after eyewitness underlined just how powerful the bomb blasts appeared to be. Speaking from his hospital bed one survivor said one blast occurred on his train a minute after it pulled out of the station and destroyed everything. Many of those killed have not yet been officially identified because the bodies in morgues are in such an appalling state.
