Two girls aged seven and 11, who disappeared over the weekend in the Belgian city of Liege, are still missing. Stacy Lemmens and her elder half-sister Nathalie Mahy were playing with their father on a bouncy castle while their mother was socialising in a local café. The father then left leaving the mother. When she got up to go two hours later at 1:00am there was no sign of the girls.

One of the detectives working on the case, Albert Priem, spoke of his concern: “It is becoming increasingly alarming. We are dealing with two children who are missing without money or food, it is a worry”. The case has sent shockwaves through the country, a country which is still coming to terms with crimes of Marc Dutroux. Dubbed the most hated man in Belgium, he kidnapped six girls between 1995 and 1996, killing four of them.
