UK police find guns in robbery probe

Police say the net is closing in on the gang behind what is thought to be Britain’s biggest ever robbery. It follows the discovery of a number of items believed to have been used in the raid in which up to 50 million pounds – the equivalent of 73 million euros – were stolen from a security depot in Kent in southeastern England.

Guns, body armour and cash were found inside a white van. Steel cages, which detectives think were used to move the stolen money, were discovered in a field. Six armed robbers, posing as police officers, kidnapped the depot manager, his wife and young son to carry out the raid. Two men are currently being questioned by police.
