Iraq is the front line in the global war against terror, according to US President George Bush. In a speech to the American Endowment for Democracy, the president declared that the ideology behind attacks by militants in Iraq is based on a perversion of ideology.
“Their ideology is very different from the religion of Islam. This form of radicalism exploits Islam. The terrorists regard Iraq as the central front in the war against humanity. And we must recognise Iraq as the central front in our war on terror,” Bush said. In Baghdad meanwhile the latest attack by a suicide bomber killed at least 11 people who had been travelling on a bus. Police said most of the victims were trainees from a police academy. Elsewhere in Iraq, five oil industry security guards were killed when the car in which they were travelling came under fire from insurgents.Copyright © 2010 euronews
