Two bomb explosions on the Indonesian resort island of Bali have killed at least 17 people, officials say. There is still some confusion over the number of blasts and casualties and confusion over casualties. Local media said 23 people had been killed in up to four explosions. The police say one blast was at a cafe on Jimbaran beach and the other in Kuta town square.

One Australian and one Japanese national are among those killed but other foreigners are also believed to have died. Bali was the scene of devastating bomb attacks almost exactly three years ago.
