Queen Elizabeth urges religious tolerance

Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II has appealed for tolerance between various cultural and religious groups.

In her traditional annual Christmas message which this year included a video of her handing out presents to her own family members, she stressed that diversity was a strength not a threat. She said tolerance was at the heart of British values. Her video message showed the important role ethnic minorities play in British life. In a first-ever separate radio broadcast she spoke directly to British troops serving in Iraq.
