US troops recapture most of Falluja

world news

| |

The US Military is claiming it has killed around 500 insurgents so far during the storming of Falluja. With some two thirds of the city now under its control, the US led government forces have reportedly suffered less than 20 fatalities. And beyond defiant Falluja trouble has flared around the country, with the Iraqi police again feeling the full force of militant fury. Mosul, in the Kurdish north, suffered its sixth raid on a police station in three days. Masked attackers invaded the police barracks in broad daylight in a district of Iraq’s third largest city and made off with weapons and ammunition.
